ANNOUNCEMENT

The Second Summer School on Mathematical and Scientific Visualisation

The Second Summer School on Mathematical and Scientific Visualisation will take place from the 20th to the 23rd of June 2005 at the Maubeuge University Centre. The Summer School offers a concise initiation to the mathematical fundamentals of visualisation techniques in various scientific fields. Courses and workshops will be taught in French and English.
They are designed for computer science and mathematics students, as well as for students specialising in other scientific matters (physics, chemistry, biology, medicine) with knowledge in differential geometry (level = 4th year of higher education). For efficiency purposes, we offer students to improve in their weak points by taking either more theoretical or more practical courses.

Lecturers:
* Gudrun ALBRECHT, mathematician at Universite de Valenciennes-Hainaut-Cambris,
* Jean-Daniel BOISSONNAT, research director, INRIA Sophia-Antipolis,
* Christian HEGE, computer scientist at Zuse Institute in Berlin,
* Konrad POLTHIER, mathematician at Zuse Institute in Berlin,
* Luc VANCKEN, mathematician at Universite de Valenciennes-Hainaut-Cambris.

Scientific coordination is managed by Aziz EL KACIMI, mathematician at Universite de Valenciennes-Hainaut-Cambris.

We would be delighted to welcome you this year as well as all your colleagues who are interested in mathematical and scientific visualisation. We would be grateful if you could spread the news around you. Please indicate that the Summer School is limited to 40 participants, so first come, first served! If you are interested, we will send you as soon as we can all the information about registration, which costs 60 euros.
