INFORMATION ON THE ONLINE MATHEMATICS LIBRARY

This web site is an extension of the mathematics library of Tokyo Metropolitan University. It contains material which is intended to be useful for local users. However, visitors are welcome.

Most of the links are colour-coded in the following way:

This is only a general guide. For example, online versions of journals are usually available to local users on the TMU campus if TMU has a subscription, but access may still be restricted by IP address or by password.

LEGAL AND SECURITY MATTERS

The internet is changing rapidly, and it is the responsibility of the individual user to be aware of the current rules governing use of the internet, which vary from country to country and web site to web site. However, some general principles are:

- material on the internet is generally protected by copyright; it is generally not allowed to download material and then post the same (or modified) material on other web sites, or to distribute, or sell the material, without the permission of the owner.

- material on the internet can generally be downloaded for personal use and storage on personal computers. If the material is referred to in other publications, it should be acknowledged (in the same way that printed material is acknowledged).

- for commercial transactions, a credit card is necessary. If you do not submit your credit card number, you will not be charged. If you choose to submit your credit card number (in order to make a purchase), you should check that the web site is secure (an address of the form https://...).

These are general guidelines only and there may be exceptions.
